Received late speeding fine

I received a speeding ticket during the week but it was after the 56 days. Reason I think was my address was spelled incorrectly. I tried to pay it but they couldn't accept payment in the post office as I was late, through no fault of my own. What happens now? Do I get a court summons and plea my case? I don't want the 4 points. I was willing, and have proof I did try to pay it but after the deadline?

Go to the court and plead your case,
it should be ok provided you can show the discrepancy in your address
    Good Luck

I went to court with a similar issue and the judge threw it out.
