    Hi, im 24 year old currently studying a plc course. I just wonder should I also apply directly to colleges / universities as a mature student to guarantee my place for next year ? In case i dont get a place with my fetac award?THANKS

    Yes, of course you should. Places are limited so even if you achieve the entry requirements for your chosen course. Its not guaranteed.
    That being said I was in the same position as you last year and got lots of offers including my first choices.

    Definitely, there's steep competition for FETAC places. Give yourself as many chances of getting a place as possible.
