I wasn't sure if I needed one or if it came with the drive/hdd/mobo, so I ordered ONE. First off, does that mean I can only use either the optical drive bay OR the hdd at one given time?
Second, this says 'Serial ATA II' and, to be blunt, isn't fitting into the slot.. there's an L shape on the SATA place that this cable doesn't have.. Am I doing the complete wrong thing or do I need 2 SATA cables..

sounds like you bought an eSATA cable maybe?

you'll need a cable for both the dvd, and hdd (so yea 2)

Unlike IDE, sATA doesn't have a Master/Slave chained set up, so you can only have one device per cable.
