    Hi
    Just wondering can someone help.
My partner is self employed for the last four years. Previously he was a company director of a co which went into liquidation. We requsted a tax clearance cert for this year which they have refused on the basis that the liquidated co owes tax. However they issued a tax clearance cert for the last three yrs no hassle. He was due refunds for two yrs which he got and is also vat registered which is up to date. How can they refuse it now... any one have similar issues. Thanks in advance

If he is income tax compliant he should get a cert.

Ask them to put the legislative basis for the refusal in writing. You are entitled to this under the customer charter.
