Time to upgrade?

    Hey guys,

Have a Dell N5010 laptop for the past 3 years. Its starting to get a bit rough around the edges, dodgy button or two, screen bezel coming off, audio port fecked and some backlight bleed.

Basically all stuff I can live with if its not worth upgrading. What it has in it is a i5 450M, 8gb DDR3, hd5470m.

I really want to know is it worth upgrading just yet, would there be much of a performance increase if I got a modestly specc'd laptop?

My friend bought an Asus Zenbook and I must say the build quality and weight are something to behold.

A laptop with a current Pentium laptop would perform better than your Inspiron N5010, even the on-chip graphics would be faster. A current Core i3 is appr. 50% faster, such laptops sell from €400.

P.S. The Zenbook is not a "modest upgrade"! :D
