    Hi,

just wondering if you need a full licence in order to be a delivery driver for the likes of dominos, pizza hut, macaris etc.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Depends, are you going to have someone with a full licence with you while you're delivering?

No I don't think I would be able to have someone with me at all times when im driving...

Then I think you know the answer. It's illegal for a driver on a provisional licence to drive unaccompanied.

Having a full license is most likely not needed to get the job. An you could probably get the correct insurance to do deliveries whilst on a provisional license (Imagine it would not be cheap)

As poster above has said though you would need to have a full licensed driver with you to be compliant with the law. Its up to you if you want to chance it but understand the risks involved before you do.

No chance of getting hired on a learner permit unless it's for category A1 - mopeds. Then you'll be level with every other delivery driver on a moped in the country :pac:

Maybe not dominos or pizza hut, as Id say they might be better organised but my neighbours sons recently learned to drive, and he delivers Chinese takeaway, with his L plates up.

This rule is not really enforced by the gardai though. They understand its not practical for a provisional licence driver to be accompanied by a full licenced driver with them at all times.

Right sure I'll see what happens, Ill apply to a few places. The worst they can say is no.

I have to disagree with that, I know a number of people who've been done for it and have heard a few more stories about people I don't know so well!
If you do decide to drive alone, dont get caught! :p
