Failed nct on emissions

    Co 0.77%
    Hc 642ppm


    Just want to know is it worth fixing
    And what is a possible cause and solution

    These are usually simple enough. Check for leaks in the exhaust between the engine head and the lambda sensor. Other possible suspects are the lambda sensor itself and the MAF.

    Hi
    High HC reading can be indication of high oil consumption. Are you putting much oil in it? From memory, those early golfs drank a good bit of crude...
    If yes, then chuck it in the bin.
