Advice needed on turning off Harmony 5 oil stove

Replaced non boiler oil stove with Harmony 5 non boiler one in the kitchen. All done by certified engineer and it is working perfectly. My only problem is turning it off and while they supply a heat resistant glove I cannot grip the fairly resistant dial to turn it to zero.

Has anybody got any ideas as to how I could do this? Maybe some kind of long handed implement? You would need to be familiar with the switch/dial.

    Thanks.
