Evidence of seeking work

I got a letter of the Social Welfare office saying that I have to to show that I'm looking for work. The problem I'm having is that I only have two rejection letters as the others have not replied. Most of them were CVs over the counter in shops that had ads up. Would they believe me if I told them this or would they tell me get lost?

Bring the 2 rejection letters, you should also look for work online as when you apply you always get a copy of the application into your email address which you can provide to the social

Bring a list of the shops you have applied in. But campo is right apply for some jobs online so you have proof.

I just applied for a few there and have enough proof. The thing is, this was sent to me mid claim. Does this mean that the timeline is now back at the start? Will I have to wait another few weeks for them to process this one page? They already have the income section complete and have had no problems with it.

No your not back to the start, if they only asked you for it now, that's their issue not yours. Just send them back or drop in what they want ASAP to help your claim progress.

Usually when they ask you for something new, it means they have reviewed the documents you brought in etc, it should be a relatively quick move to the next stage if you get them in quickly.

Ok, thanks. I'll go in tomorrow and find out. I'll post what happens here as other might be in the same situation.

I went in today with more proof and they said it was alright. However they said in future I should bring more from previous months.

What I do is I set up a folder in my email account for jobs ( and even sub folders for months ) and when I get an automated reply from a job I applied for online I put them in the folder

Thanks, I'll do that from now on. I'm always looking for work so I will have a big file for the next time.

They said my claim has not been reset so I would hope to have it in the next two weeks or something.

Keep a list either in a notebook or on an excel spreadsheet of everything to do with job search.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
