Academic year structure in TCD – Xmas

    Hello

    My understanding from TCD website is that last teaching week is from 9 till 13 of Dec. College closed 24 December 2013 to 1 January 2014, inclusive.

    What about Dec 16 till 23rd - is it holidays for first year students?
    Is it the same every year (Xmas week and preceding week are holidays) for first year students?

    Yeah, first years are off for a month starting December 13. It's usually the same every year, last year it was Dec 16 to Jan 16, I think. It's not just first years, it's nearly everyone in the college.

    Students only though. Staff are still there until close of business 23rd December (or meant to be anyway).
