Need Help Choosing A New Phone

I have an upgrade in work and can get any phone for free (work bundle). I'm currently using an iPhone 4S and I'm looking to switch back to Android. I had a Note 2 last year and loved it so automatically I'm thinking a Note 3 would be the best bet. Is there anything else I should consider? Sony, HTC etc?

I'm looking for a big phone-the bigger the better. I set my sights on the Xperia Z Ultra but apparently that's not coming to O2. What are the best alternatives to the Note 3 and is there anything on the horizon I should wait for?

    Cheers.

What do you think of the S4 or HTC one? Both great phones.

A friend has the S4 and I really like it. If I was to go for an S4 though, I'd probably get the Note 3 due to the bigger screen. The one aspect I didn't like about the Note 2 was that it felt quite cheap. How is the Note 3 in this regard?

    I've had, since 2010
    Sgs1
    Sgs2
    Sgs4

    Loved them all, great phones.

However, I'm now on the note 3. Absolutely the best phone I've ever owned hands down.

I've finally found a phone that has battery percentage left come 5pm, despite using the phone heavily all day. Phone calls/email/browsing.

This is a very premium phone. Size isn't an issue, you'll find yourself wondering how you used the smaller screens after a few hours using it

The s pen is fantastic, and adds some brilliant features too.

    My 2 cents.

Edit. Doesn't feel cheap in the slightest. Premium phone solidly built. ^^

I loved the size of the Note 2. Is there a big step up in build quality between the 2 & 3?

I'd prob give anything for O2 to stock the Xperia Z Ultra.

Honestly. I never owned one before, in fact I don't even think I actually seen anyone using one before, so I can't compare to the predecessor.

Get your hands on one though, I bet you'll be surprisingly pleased.

There is a step up in the quality feel of the Note 3 but I think both it and the Note 2 were well built. The plastics on the Note 2 let it down but the faux leather and squarer shape definitely feel better in the hand. It's definitely not a patch on the HTC one in the hand as the materials simply aren't as good, the silver bezel around it is still cheap plastic, but it does feel like a phone that will last.

I'd also look at the HTC One - in my experience there are a few glitches with the Note 3's software that I never experienced with my HTC One and it felt a little quicker in use and held onto signal a lot better. I would usually sell an old phone when I'm done with it but I am hanging onto the HTC one as it hung onto signal so much better and it's something I'm monitoring on the Note 3 at the moment as at times it's frustrating.

Cheers! Based on watching loads of reviews the HTC One seems to be the best nonphablet phone (on par with the S4). Think I just need to decide whether the extra screen real estate on the Note 3 is worth it over the One.

What's your opinion having owned both devices?

There's also the HTC One Max coming in the near future...don't know how near though.

After being a iPhone user from day 1 . I decided to change after the crap release of the iPhone 5. I bought the Galaxy s4 and I have not looked back. Took a while to get used to a new operating system but delighted I changed phone. Even with the realease of the new iPhone I will stick with what I have.
