Go in in person and ask for your p45. If they can't provide it immediately, ask for a letter on headed paper stating the last date you worked. That is sufficient to sign on. Do it tomorrow: because you did not go to the social welfare office straight away they may not backdate your payment.

Jobs are hard to come by so in future you should discuss problems with your boss before leaving.

Your boss sounds okay: you had no entitlement to any extra payments (assuming that 2 weeks' wages wasn't simply monies owed for time worked).

As well as the above OP you should bring with you two forms of ID when you go to the SW office (one photo ID and one proof of address) so you can at least open a claim. Then contact your local tax office and they will be able to get your P45 from your employer sent out to you.

I think SW will only backdate any payment to the date you lodged your claim, but you may be lucky to get backdated to the date you ceased employment if you have a reference letter from your former employer.

you can contact the revenue if she is refusing to give it to you and they will contact her and get it for you.

You said you emailed her so it's possible she hasn't seen it or just forgotten about it. Phone her tomorrow, tell her you'll be in later to collect your P45. If the P45 isn't ready then as an interim measure, get a letter on headed paper with your employment details.

If it's a case that she is refusing to give you your P45, contact your local tax office and they will contact her for the details.

you might not even get the social
because you left your job without a good excuse
your boss sounded like a good boss, you should of brought the problem to her instead of just not showing up
thats quite childish in my book,

Actually the last poster just made a key point that slipped my mind - if you voluntarily leave a job you can be refused dole for 9 weeks.

However if you can present a case that you were being mistreated, it is at the discretion of the deciding officer whether or not to award you your payment.

Sorry if that's bad news but it's better to be forewarned.

There's a section in Revenue you can ring if your previous employer is refusing to give you your P45, and they will be able to help you. I'm not sure of what section it is, but if you ring your local PAYE district (put your PPS number in here and it will give you the phone number to ring), they should be able to advise you.

They can also fine your previous employer if they don't issue you a P45.
