    Gents,

Just wondering if this was above board? Nothing excessive, but I generally dispose of the head and legs etc in my domestic bin, hadn't thought it might be an issue, but just wondering if perhaps it was?

Carcass and bones etc I give to a local with dogs etc, but the head and legs that I remove before hanging I generally put in the bin!

Would you think about a Ditch???

It's good enough for Mr Fox, dump it away from any water source and walk away whistling (poorly)....

Well, I put the innards in the ditch after the golloch but not t too sure about dumping the head and legs in a Ditch!

:-) once a year maybe but five or six a year and I'm gonna have a special tank full of head and leg after not so long :-)

I take it no one else uses their bin by the sounds of it?

I know a guy who shot two deer and like you he used his domestic bin for the head and legs. then on bin day he was gathering up some sleep points and missed the bin men, two weeks until their next visit left him with quite the fly collection.

back to your original point, i wouldn't see any problem with it.

The local butchers normally do me the favor of disposing of the likes of this.
I do give him a few chops or a small roast now and again.

    Cheers,

What I normally do is keep the remains in the cooler with the carcass until bin day, that stops it from rotting and the bin odour problem

Small pack shovel and a hole in the ground when you are in the field after gutting?

Isn't the carcass not heavy enough to drag back I say leave everything in thick corner of the field

Don't think the head and legs make a huge difference in weight to be honest. In fact I think it's an easier and cleaner drag with the head on

Thanks Ruger, might give it a go next time, suppose it depends on how far I am from the jeep :-)

Looks like a few others use the bin as well, was just curious if anyone had any issues or complaints with doing it that way.

I've put a head in the middle of a field before to go back later to have a chat with a few Crows, good sport to be had, just run it by the Farmer first.
