Jesus that sounds like a awful price as the van is only worth round 4k

Why not just get the effected areas repaired?

That price above may sound expensive but anything less is usually a pretty cr*p job in my experience.

If its white and you only want a rough job (no engine bay minimal matching only to simple factory standard) I can't see it being much more than 1500

Can't see it being much more than 15 either if it's White and as above.

2.5-3k is wayyyyyyyy off the mark.

Not for a decent Job. It takes a lot of labour to do the prep work alone, that's before you even get into the repainting side of things.

For a €1500 job, corners will be cut. This is especially true of a van as there is a far bigger area to prep and to paint. For that money the paint probably won't even be baked in an oven.

Maybe a €1500 job is acceptable to some people and maybe it mightn't look too bad on a white van but it will be easy to tell that the spray job isn't of the best quality.

I was getting my e30 318 re sprayed I got quoted 800. And the guy that was doing it is very highly regarded and known as the best around where I'm from. Depends where you go at the end of the day.

I was quoted 2k to respray an e30 that had rust issues and needed a bit of work.

2 5k is way off the ball

Did you get the respray done? Was it of decent quality? Were the rusted areas repaired correctly?

2.5k is not "way of the ball" believe me. I have seen all sorts of jobs from your rough and ready €800 jobs to upwards of 3k decent jobs.

You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to body work and repainting.

No, but I know from previous work what the guy does is nothing but top quality. All the other prices were from 11-1500

Most french vans white paint is rough and ready from the factory anyway

Well the would have to strip down the rubbers, Sand down the whole car, mask off areas like windows and vents, Paint the whole car in primer, then sand the car down again, only then will they paint it, hopfully with quality 2k paint, it may have to oven dry. It is alot of work so I would see around 2k as being fair.
