Perian alternative

    Looks like my upgrade to Mavericks has finally killed off Perian.
    I guess the answer is no, but I thought I'd ask what everyone else here uses?

    I will miss the Quick Look feature, as well as having thumbnails for .avi's etc.
    So, am I stuck using VLC (which doesn't do the above)?

    I'm glad somebody else reported this.

    Not being able to preview / quickview videos is a right pain in the arse.

    Since the team that developed Perian are no longer doing updates for it, i turn to iDealshare VideoGo for Mac which can convert all kinds of video files like AVI, WMV, MKV, VOB, MPG, FLV, WTV, DVR, AVCHD, MXF, MTS, MOD, TOD, and etc to Mac supported MP4 or MOV.
