I'm looking to sell my Lemond 853/ OCLV carbon spine frameset. It's in really good condition just has from a couple of tiny cable rub marks on the headtube. These were the very last of the Lemond bikes that were manufactured by trek.

It's a size 55cm..semi compact geometry- centre of B/B to top of seat collar measures 53.5 cm Head tube length is 15.5cm It has an effective top tube of 56.5 cm It takes a standard 27.2 seatpin and has an english thread bottom bracket. It requires a pretty standard 34.9 band on front deraileur adaptor.

Very comfortable, yet responsive road frame, and extremely rare.

I'm based in east cork..accept paypal and will deliver for cost.

    Great value at €400

What height are you do you mind me asking?
Where does the 55cm measurement come from if the seat tube is 53odd and top tube 56.5?
    Cheers

Yes Lemond spine bikes had a pretty weird sizing system. I would reckon my frame would be roughly equivalent to a giant TCR size M/L or a 58cm trek madone..or a 56cm specialized tarmac. It would suit a rider between 5' 9"
to 6' 1" depending on bodily proportions of course. The standover height is 77.2cm

Managed to dig up a geometry chart.

what weight is the frame/fork combo and would it take 25/28c tyres?

Yes it will deffo take 25c tyres....Was running velocity A23 wide rim road wheels & 25c Michelin tyres and had plenty of clearance with standard drop road brakes.

Would reckon you might just squeeze some 28c tyres in there, if you used wider rims to spread the beads wider apart like Velocity A23, Hed C2 Ardennes/Belgium, Kinlin XC-279, Zipp 101 wheels. Some 28c tyres have a taller profile than others...Continental do have a very high profile, while panaracer have a much lower profile.

Not sure about weight.... three pounds or so I would think for the frame minus fork.

Update- This frame has enough clearance for 25c tyres...But not enough room for 28c....

What model year is this frame?
Will those bosses take downtube shifters?

It's a Lemond Malliot Jaune. Yes you can use downtube levers on it.

Here's an article I found reviewing it....The photos give a better idea of what it looks like when built up.
