What is included in a full car service?

I have an 03 Renault clio that I bought on Sunday. It's immaculate but the interior light for the clock display is very dim and I can't see it properly, also the clutch is fine when you press it down but is a tiny bit stiff bringing it to biting point.
I think I might get the car fully serviced, just for peace of mind. Would they fix this sort of stuff in a full service? What else do I get with a full service?

    Cheers guys

refer to you car's maintenance schedule hand-book for the mileage of your car. Draw you mechanic's attention to the two items you mention above.

If you don't have a service history, give it a full service as you won't know how long oils, filters etc have been in there.
If you have other issues, list them for the garage or else they will most likely not be addressed.

The mileage on my car is 85,000 miles. How often should you get your car serviced?

That depends on the car and the engine, petrol or diesel.

There may be some useful info here.

OP here is a link to your service manual - have a read gives the details of what should be done at each service for your car. Remember unless you saw proof you have no guarantee this was followed.

I have the service book, I'll check it out in the morning. I think the last thing that was changed in it was the oil filter a few months ago.

    It's a Renault Clio 16V expression, 1.2 ltr, petrol.

Last time my car was serviced was in June.
It had the spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter and oil filter done. It says that the next service should be at 95,000 mls. My car is at 85,000 mls.

I just felt like my car needed to be serviced because the central locking locks but doesn't unlock the doors, the radio display is very dim and clutch is a bit stuff.

none of these three things are normally done as part of a service. A service is scheduled items that need to be replaced, oil, filters, plugs...
What you are looking for is some issues to be repaired.

    Ahh, I see.
Do you know how much roughly it'd cost for central locking to be fixed?
When I press the key, it doesn't open the locks, but it will lock them?
So I have to open the door by putting the key in it.

This could be anything from a few quid to a lot. It depends on what is causing the problem. It might be that there is something wrong with the key itself (probably not likely) or a loose wire in the car. It could also be something more serious.
