Love them or hate them, there are 33,000 urban foxes roaming Britain’s suburbia. Fox Wars meets the huggers, haters and shooters who live alongside their increasingly bolder suburban neighbour.

Foxes can live 14 years, but most urban foxes only manage two. Some are killed by pest controllers like Tim, who’s been shooting foxes for over a decade, or Lee, who has killed over 2,000 foxes in the last 10 years.

But not all pest controllers favour the gun. Foxagon is one of the few humane pest controllers in the UK who specialise in moving foxes on rather than destroying them. They claim to have so far saved the lives of more than 200 foxes. Foxagon’s owner Terry says: "It all runs in harmony, if you start taking out what you don't like, the squirrels, the foxes, the badgers, you end up with nothing."
