This would do nicely. You will just have to download the windows 7 trial and make a boot disk on an 8gb usb stick or a dvd then activate it with the key from amazon. You save €50 on windows this way.

If you don't want to do that you could cut €50 out of your build easily enough to get a dvd version of windows from amazon.

    Item|Price
    WD Caviar Blue 1TB 6Gb's|€54.42
    ASUS PCE-N15|€14.90
MSI B85-G41 PC Mate, ATX, Sockel 1150|€66.44
    Samsung SH-224DB schwarz|€16.65
    8GB-Kit G-Skill RipJaws PC3-12800U CL9|€70.23
    Cooltek Antiphon Black, ohne Netzteil|€61.25
    Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X, 3GB DDR5, PCI-Express|€264.48
    Intel Core i5-4570 Box, LGA1150|€171.26

does it matter if i choose a different case?http://www.bitfenix.com/global/en/products/chassis/prodigy/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Yes it does. You will need an itx board for that case. There is also an matx version which will require an matx board. HWVS sell both but it will push the price up a bit. They don't have a huge selection of colors either.

The matx version is probably your best bet as the board will have more expansion options and connectors.

Might have to update the graphics card in two or three years to keep playing games maxed out but other that processor will last a long time. You should really look into overclocking!!! I don't think processor above supports it.

Can u suggest a better processor and will the 7950 be ok?

7950 is a great card and 4670K is slightly more expensive but has room for overclocking. Overcloking is really simple to do. Could gain 35% more performance on a 7950 and 4670k can be over clocked to to around 4.2GHZ or more which would is good. I'd get a motherboard in the build as well and maybe a better powersupply as well.

But bloodbaths build is perfect if you have no intention of overclocking or crossfire

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

    whats over clocking?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

how do u make a table like bloodbath did

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 423 ✭✭Recurve360

The R9 280X is the newest line of AMD cards, it would be a little more powerful than the 7950. Also a 7950 wont fit into a prodigy case.

Also to get similar spec to what bloodbath has put together would cost at least an extra €100 to go mITX and get an overclockable board + processor. Plus you lose a lot of space for expansion ports etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Well it's a good bit more powerful than a stock 7950, probably around 30-35% more. It's basically a pre overclocked 7970. However overclocking the 7950 would close that gap to around 5-10%.

If you aren't sure about the overclocking then don't bother. You don't really have the budget to get a 4670k + cooler + overclocking board anyway. Not unless you ditch the ssd.

A 4570 is a very powerful processor anyway.

can u recomend a portibal case

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

The antiphon isn't exactly huge in fairness. The prodigy wouldn't be much smaller.

    It does fit

Will it fit 2 of them?

An itx board will only have one expansion slot so it can only fit one graphics card. Some mATX boards will support 2 cards but best off to go ATX then that you can get 2 PCIe x 16 lanes.

A friend tried to fit a Gigabyte 7950 into a prodigy and it was just a little too small, maybe some other cards would manage it.

And I know the Cooltk isnt huge but i mean expansion ports wise you have more flexibility with the bigger case.

If you're considering 2 cards though O'd get a bigger better case like the nanoxia deep silence 1. You want something with at least a 140mm side intake to feed some air to those cards.

I don't think you need dual cards for 1080p though. You would also need a bigger psu. 700w+ and a board that supports it which will push the price up even more.

I dont plan on getting the second for atleast 2 years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

Blood bath(or anyone else) do u think i should get one of thesehttp://www.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=110125&agid=2447
And another in a few years or get it and upgrade to a different card like the http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-mDisplayPort-Graphics-04G-P4-2690-KR/dp/B007ZRO3U4 in a few years when the price goes down?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

There will be better cheaper cards by the time you need to upgrade from a 280x. New generations of cards come out every 12-15 months or so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

thanks very much for all your help i am ordering the parts tomorrow.
i am not going for 2 graphics cards i would really like the prodigy M case will the 280x fit in it and will other cards in the future plus is the processor you recommended alright and will i need to upgrade it.
if you could answer by tomorrow that would be great.
    thanks again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

I have no idea if the card will fit the Prodigy M case. You would have to check what is the max length card it can fit and then make sure the card fits. There are smaller cards like the Sapphire.

You should have got an email with tracking info from them. Has your order even been dispatched yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

    doesent say anything

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Did you check to see if everything was in stock before ordering? It might not have even been dispatched yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

2 things were not in stock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

There you go then. Are they back in stock yet or any estimate date?

The order won't be dispatched until everything in the order is in stock. They will reserve any of the parts while waiting for the others.

If they still aren't in stock with no estimate then you should consider changing them to something that is in stock and in the same price region.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

how long do you think the ones with no estimate will take?

No clue. What are they? You could email hwvs and get them to change it to an alternative.

    Ok

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

    Yea have heard anything yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

Do you think i will have it before christmas

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

You should do. It only takes 3-4 days to deliver it once it's dispatched. Getting it dispatched is the issue. It's a pain but keep at them and try to resolve it.

Just ask them what items are holding up the order and if there is an estimate on delivery. If it's not soon you could get the part changed.
