Ali would have been a simple defense for Vladamir klitschko

Ali relied on his jab to set up punches. Ali has no jab against Klitschko. Ali had a poor defense and was easy to hit, His supreme stamina allowed him to profale in 50/50 fights. Vlad is 40 ilbs heavier, and a better all round boxer. Ali has less knock out power. Ali has to be afraid of vlads knock out power

Ali faced the likes of Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Shavers - some huge punchers and didn't get knocked out. I think you're seriously underrating Ali's chin.

Ali had a Grade A Chin and Stamina. This is enough to beat most fighters. Would he have beat Foreman 2nd time around ?

What could George do differently to win? Be patient? He gets out boxed. Push the pace? Well, we know what happens then.

Wlad would have beat Ali quite easy tbh, what exactly would Ali have done to beat him? only way he's losing is by ko and Ali is not the man to do that.

    I can answer that. Yes.

But I don't think Ali is the style of fighter to do it to him. This is a technical match where Ali is faced with serious obstacles. Height, reach and weight.

Could he win? Yes. Wlad still has to land shots, and in doing so he is open to getting tagged. Ali's power is probably underrated. Enough to get Wlad's respect I say.

If Wlad plays it real safe and efficient he could get a points win, but I do not see how this is easy. Ali's speed of foot and hand alone won't allow this to be easy.

Ali's main problem is getting to land cleanly on a man who is 3 inches taller with longer arms. Wlad's problem is landing on a vert=y clever and resourceful and fast Ali, with a very good defence. This is tough chess match.

Ali speeds wins this fight easy, does not matter how long lads arms are he will be to slow and lumbering, speed is king here, and Ali can most certainly knock him out if he hits him cleanly consistently.

ali was seriously hard to hit in his career before begng striped of his belt! he was just too fast and i think hes be too fast for vlad! in the years after regaining his lisence he slowed but had a chin that survived a serious hammering from george foreman and smokin joe! i think ali wears vlad out and wins via late ko

Vlad can win this one way only. He bores the crowd to death for nearly 15 rounds and with no one left watching ali decides to pack his bags and go home.

Seriously for me a prime Ali is too quick and scores well with the job, moving in and out of range while vlad is trying to untangle his feet still.

I can see ways for both fighters to win, and think it would be a pretty close contest tbh

For me I give the edge to Wlad most times, but it really is a fight that could go either way depending on who can land more clean punches on the night. Both would have the ability to land while also making the opponent miss.

I think it depends which Ali we're talking about. I believe the Ali of '64 to '67 makes Klitschko look foolish with his speed and lightning combinations, and eases his way to a comfortable points victory. Ali after his layoff, while still a fantastic boxer, is in with a stylistic nightmare in Vlad. I still think his significant hand speed is enough to eke out a win but it will be hard fought and a terrible fight to watch.
