Yeah so I'm a few years behind everyone else when it comes to TVs..just purchased a new Samsung TV there and I assumed all I'd have to do is to start a scan for channels and all the Irish saorview ones would pop up but no luck.. Is there an aerial or connector or something I need to buy seperately?
Any help would be appreciated cos I'm kinda slow with this

Do you have it connected to an aerial?

No none came with it..a part of me just assumed the new TVs had no need for it.. Do you mean the rabbit ears?

Depending on what area you are in the rabbit ears may work. Worse case is a rooftop aerial.

    A separate aerial is required.

Do yourself a favor and take a minute to read the manual that came with the TV.

Don't assume anything when it comes to apartment blocks, check with the management company or neighbours.

Is there TV wallplate in the apartment?
If so how many connectors on the wallplate?
Are they the standard push in co-ax connectors or screw on type?

You could test each TV point by connecting it to the TV with a suitable fly lead and doing a auto scan/tune on the TV.

Not all 3 may be connected to cables or 1 cable could be feeding all 3 and split at the TV point.

As I said previously you sould test each TV point by connecting it to the TV with a suitable fly lead and doing a auto scan/tune on the TV.

connect a cable from the TV point on the wall to your TV and rescan. One of these cables should be fine:

However, if your apartment is anything like the one I previously lived in then the points on the wall wont be connected and you will have to find out the entry point in your apartment (normally a connection box near the front door).

NO.So called rabbit ears are VHF aerials for FM radio or DAB.Not suitable for UHF TV.
