All Retinas received a price drop of about €200. Regular MacBook Pros are gone except for the entry-level 13-inch.

13-inch Retina got the biggest upgrade. Thinner, lighter, better graphics, better battery life. 8-9 hours battery life on all models.

Best of all is that it now supports 16gb RAM

Yeah that was the first thing I checked. :D

Does anyone know anything about the Iris chipset in the 13-inch? I know it's not as good as Iris Pro, but does it offer a significant improvement over the old graphics? My main issue with the previous 13-inch Retina was the underpowered graphics.

Depends on the model and what SSD/processor you want.

    Prices are all here:

The 15" tops out at only a 2.3GHz processor?

Didnt the last model offer up to 2.7GHz?

Despite the new architecture, surely the 2.3 is not as fast?!

Haswell, 2.3ghz is still damn fast. Only 200g heavier than the Air, slightly miffed but still happy with my Air

The 13-inch Pro is quickly encroaching on the Air's territory. I think we can expect a redesign of the Air next year. Probably with a 12-inch display as recently speculated.

What kind of performance can be expected by the new onboard graphics? I'm also assuming that because the graphics are onboard, there shouldn't be as much of a heat issue as can be had with some dedicated graphics cards?

I think I'll finally upgrade my machine. I'm looking at the base 15" model, although I am not sure it's worth €500 more than a 13".

The air has the Intel HD5000 chipset and it's freakily fast, I presume the IRIS is even quicker again. Photoshop editing is an absolute breeze, haven't done that much in FinalCut pro other than cutting and transitions, again very fast and adobe media encoder rips amazingly fast.

The HD5000 in the Air doesn't have to power a Retina screen though. I'm still of two minds about whether it's worth waiting for Broadwell.

Gonna upgrade from my current 15". Which is looking better, 13 or 15? I'm leaning towards the 13". My main use will be for HD video editing

Keep in mind, only the high-end 15-inch has discrete graphics. Although the integrated Iris Pro in the low-end 15-inch should be good enough. The 13-inch, however, only has regular Iris. The previous 13-inch Retina was underpowered in the graphics department, so I'm eager to see how it measures up.

Since you are video editing GPU isn't really that important, but I thought I'd mention this anyway since you currently have a 15-inch with discrete GPU.
