Back up For Formating?

Okay, so I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit running off of a 500GB internal and I have been having issues for about a year with bsods, mostly AMD driver corruption, but other than that I've had ntoskrnl.sys bsod and various others, I not entirely convinced that Windows is corrupt in some way as it could be the AMD drivers passing bad memory across to the rest of the system. Anyway, I was thinking if I format and reinstall with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit(I have a spare copy) I could solve the Windows errors at least, so I wanted to know what is the easiest way to format and have everything I've installed, Software/files/etc be exactly the way I've got it installed in Ultimate?

TL:DR Format, losing as little data as possible

    MY RIG:

    Intel Core i5-3470
    HIS HD 7850 2GB GDDR5
    ASRock B75 Pro3 LGA1155
    Antec BasiQ VP450
    8GB-Kit G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9
    Seagate Barracuda 7200 500GB SATA 6GB's
    LG GH24NS(DVD Drive)
    BitFenix Merc Beta

You may not need to format

I had issues with a system before everything pointed to graphic card but i found that it was the memory that was not running right on my machine so i was told to raise NB Voltage in the bios as i was running overclocked Gskill memory ddr2 pc1066 and this fixed my machine. Also i had 4 dimm slots but i had 2 dimms and they had to be in port 1 and 3 or port 2 and 4 otherwise problems with machine also.

So post up the full specs of your machine maybe someone else will spot something you haven't yet.

Also are you downloading the driver for graphic card off amd site direct as this is better.

have you tried running the built in system file checker?

open cmd and type sfc.exe /scannow

this will scan and verify the windows system files and repair them if possible

Thank You for your reply, I have updated my OP to include my specs.

I have only ever used the AMD site for GPU drivers and have kept up to date I even have the Catalyst profiles installed, one curious thing about the GPU drivers is that they always corrupt without fail when I install a game through Steam, only because it reinstalls DirectX and that's always been the trigger for the atikmdag.sys to cause the BSOD error.

From the start when I had got the machine first, I had to swap the RAM sticks(first and third) in order to get the machine to post.

I have run chkdsk(FULL scan and fix) and the Windows default memory diagnostics, no issues were found. Is the scan you mentioned something different?

Yes this different scan take a while too.

This sounds like the same problem i had go to gskill forum support for best setting for you motherboard and ram it might already be there. You have to register to post.

Yes you should post them they dont take too long the last time there team were working on my type of motherboard so i was in luck

You should also run memory tester like memtest86 overnight to see if you get errors on this. Thats what i did and had a few but it took a few hours before i got one. Since i upgraded my machine to add another 4gb to it i had to lower the speed setting of memory to 800mhz from 1066mhz as my machine failed memtest86 and was blue screening

Just one thing i saw was that your power supply may not be large enough

    http://www.hisdigital.com/un/product2-698.shtml

Graphic card needs 500 watt or higher it states

GFX psu requirements are always over stated by manufacturer.....
(that have to account for morons buying 700W €20 cheap nasty death trap psus....)

450W is more than enough for a 7850.

Well My cards TDP is like 135w I'm pretty sure and I was recommended this build from this very board, but on top of that, if I install a game(DirectX and all) a and play it without reinstalling my GPU drivers first it will BSOD during play, sometimes within minutes regardless of how intensive the game is, I can run games as long as after installation completely normally, but after a while something usually triggers the driver corruption, I can tell when it's due for a BSOD because after start up the desktop will be white for about 30-40 seconds, then I just reinstall and it's back to normal.
