My father was quoted €150 for a replacement second key for his 08 toyota from the dealer. (€150 for a key with the central locking buttons and €80 for a normal "no buttons" key)

He needs the second key so has no option but to buy one, but before he does i asked him to hold off as i remember seeing a thread discussing this a while back.

Is there any place that would do replacement coded keys cheaper?

    Thanks.

Most locksmiths can code a second key quite reasonably.

    Where are you based?

I got mine cut here. Cost €50 for the key and coding.
