Exhaust muffler welding? Cost?

The muffler box on my car was gave a few hard knocks this morning going over some speed bumps, and when I was driving home today, I could tell that the muffler was no longer in line. Sure enough the pipe behind the muffler had broken.

I have the muffler off, and the muffler is sound (it's maybe only 15-18 months old). The break has occurred just after the weld on the pipe, towards the catalytic converter direction, edges of the pipe break are very clean, it's not a corrosion issue, it's a break that begun probably only a few days ago.

Should this be easy enough for a garage to weld? How much would I be looking at?

I'm only planning on running the car another couple of months, so something adequate and reasonable (cost wise) is needed.

    Anything DIY I could try?

Pics would help but some local guy can probably to a quick job on it if it's a clean break as you say.
