    Update

I have a core 2 duo at the moment

I was thinking of just upgrading to a core 2 quad extreme and overclock it as I have a 775 socket motherboard and 4 gigs of ram and a 6850 1gig ddr5

What are my chances of running battlefield 4 on low settings stable 25-30 fps ?

At least until I Finnish my final year and get a job and build myself a powerhouse pc :)

    I ran the BF4 beta on a 2.8GHz Q9550, with 8GB's or RAM, and a 1GB 4870.

Switch everything to low, and you'll be grand.

I've since lowered the res from 1680*1050 down to 1280*720 on BF3 which got me a substantial FPS boost, so likewise on BF4 should yield good results for you.

Sell your s775 mobo and cpu, and the 6850...

    Buy a cheap s-am3, fx6300, and a 7870 - pixmania sell a 7870 for 150 delivered.

Making allowance for the old hardware, the new stuff shouldn't cost too much.

There's a video floating about of someone running BF4 beta off an i3 laptop with HD 4000 graphics

The full version should be better

A 6850 and 775 Quad should be smooth enough if you run it on low (still looks good) with a lower res

Tomshardware.com has a few benchmarks of the Beta on weaker graphics cards

That doesn't look bad at all ! I get anything from 30 fps on large maps to 40 on the smaller ones in battlefield 3 on medium settings even with my cpu being a major bottleneck in my system so if I improve that I hope to get the same results with battlefield 4 on low
