    Hey again lads :)
I posted here a few times regarding pcs , got my pc in september with the help from you guys :) I also posted a while ago that my younger bro wants one and was going to buy it off adverts.ie but you guys advised me to just get a custom build one for him

Its basicly his christmas+birthday present rolled into one

(I'm not paying the 800 I'm just giving a 200e towards it) rest is his and my parents money together

    so here we go

He wants a computer mainly for steam games, he wants graphics to be top notch and wants games to run on ultra high settings (if possible with this budget I don't know I'm not a techie) any help at all will be appreciated, Like i said i dont know anything about computers , so what ever build anyone posts up I'll just assume its a good one and go for it :)

What is your budget? 800 - 1000(if needs be its christmas after all :P)

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? gaming on ultra max settings

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? yes win7 which ever one is the best one as I dont know, is 64bit the best one?

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? no , he doesnt own a computer so he needs everything

    5. Do you need a monitor? yes around 20-22 inch ( if prices need ot be mixed around a little he have the 20inch

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Wireless Card, Card Reader] YES, he needs a keyboard and mouse(il get of amazon for him so dont include it in the budget) also he needs one of them wireless usb pick up signal things, yano the ones the you plug into your computer and it picks up your wireless connection to the pc, ya one of them haha sorry don't know the name

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No, never will

    8. How can you pay? Assuming its with that german site, bank transfer

    9. When are you purchasing? ASAP, have other presents to get unfortunatly

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? I'd like it built with the parts im buying before its sent to me, I dont mind paying the extra few quid to have it built, as I'd rather an expert puts it together so it works on christmas day then , then trying myself and breaking something :P

like I said any help at all will be great

games he will be playing will be a mix between needing high ram support and high cpu support, like civ 5, battlefield, skyrim ect...

Cheers lads :) as soon as its bought I'l post a pic of it before wraping it up and letting it collect dust:pac:

Something like this should do nicely. Just make sure everything is in stock when you order so it doesn't get held up. The case comes in plain black if you don't think he will like the black + white or you could go for something else completely.

You will have to install windows and drivers yourself.

No problem. He's spoilt. :) What age is he?

The mouse in that deal is pretty good so it's not a bad deal.

The i5 has better performance but it would want to costing a fair bit more. It won't make a difference in some games but it can it can in others. The 6350 is still a very capable processor.

The parts will still fit the case.

OK so here it is all priced up
I switched the graphics card you gave me the the Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950, 3GB GDDR5, PCI-Express

Mainly because I used the discount site and I got a nice discount on everything, so I said Id throw an extra few quid for the better graphics card, whether its any better then the one you mentioned I dont really know :p

    o7tzlk.png

    Over all price €844.48 + 124e+ 16.50 = €984.98
have to say it looks like a very nice build for his first, I'm quite jealous now I'm not his age haha

(decided to go with the mouse , I'l give him my mouse and I'l take that one, looks to cool if I'm honest :pac:)

He is getting spoilt, but because I'm in my twenties I no longer get presents off the fat man :( hes only 14 , turning 15 in december so its both a birthday present and christmas present rolled into one
I'm putting about 300-400 towards it, probably abit more since I decided to give him the intel and graphics upgrade, then the rest can come out of my parents wages :pac:
It will be an investment for him as It will last most games on nice high graphics for a few years atleast until hes old enough to get a job himself to pay for an upgrade

the fact Im a good bit older then him, means hes can get it, if we were closer to the same age, id very much doubth my parents would even consider spending that much on a pc ha
My dads face is after dropping when I told him the price, but he doesnt understand technology at all, can barly use an old nokia phone but hes very impressed with the pc you built me bloodbath their in september, thing only takes like 12seconds to turn on :) cant seem to get off it at all :pac:

well that seems like everything their need to turn the thing on and use it:) hope im not missing anything

    again mate thanks for everything

Well you could get an ssd. Seems crazy to spend €1000 on a pc with no ssd. Even if it's just a 60gb one for windows and his background programs.

If you aren't going to overclock the 7950 is a bit wasted. The 270x offers similar performance to a non overclocked 7950 for significantly less. If you do go with the 7950 you might as well grab the his model. The cooler is just as good if not better and it's €20 cheaper.

If you aren't going to overclock it I wouldn't bother though. Better to spend the money on an ssd.

I dont really understand the purpose for an ssd though, is that just more storage? considering I have a 1tb harddrive on the list I don't really see the benfit to it, maybe I'm wrong or just not understanding its use

Ya I suppose, I ain't going to overclock at all for myself or him on either computer, but would the extra gb ddr5 ram not be any use at all in the future? with regards to games demanding more?

The ssd is a lot faster than a hard drive which makes it ideal for the os and main programs that start when the pc starts and other stuff like your browsers ect. It significantly speeds up boot times, shut down times, the speed of opening programs and the pc just feels a lot more responsive when using one.

The difference is very noticeable and once you use one you won't go back to just a mechanical drive.
