hi i am interested in doing this next year i am currently on a year off and trying to build a portfolio i have an interest in photography and graphic design , i like graphic design but i don't really like drawing or sketching at all more so the adobe side of the whole thing?

Is it possible to build a portfolio for just graphic design and not have to have sketch books etc with fine art sketches ?

or would i be better trying to go ahead a build a photography portfolio? im not sure that i love photography enough to do a degree in it . can someone give me a little more insight?

    thanks

I'm currently a first student in it, our current semester only has 3 hours of Creative IT a week, everything else is almost basic arts and craft, aswell as drawing and painting. I don't particularly enjoy that side of it either, I have way more fun in Creative IT, its just getting your brain working in a creative way thats the aim of it.

Theres no portfolio required to get into this course, its based purely on points, so theres no real point to making up one, although you would probably be a step ahead of most people going into the course next year, in terms of rustiness, etc. I know alot of us were quite rusty 6 weeks ago.

In terms of having a portfolio for other colleges who require it, having come from a portfolio course myself, we had all 3 in ours, from detailed drawings, to paintings, to some photoshop work to landscape photography. So it will boost your portfolio alot with all 3 as opposed to just focusing on one aspect.

    In WIT.

There is a few variations of the timetable and its been switched a small bit but mine is...

Monday to Wednesday 9:15 to 1:15
    Thursday 3:15 to 5:15
    Friday 9:15 to 1:15 - 2:15 to 5:15

Pretty handy hours compared to alot of other courses.
