Currys Guarantee?

Bought laptop from Currys last year just before Christmas and this weekend the screen broke. I've no idea what warranty is or policy but have owned it for less than a year and in my own experience, warranties for goods of that price are generally at least a year.
Going in tomorrow, just wondering what I'll need with me or how much I'll be expected to pay, or if they'll repair it at all or send me to a third party...
Had laptop in protector case as well which annoyed me..
Just if you've any experience or knowledge in this area will you give me an idea of what to expect.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

The screen tends to be the most expensive part of the laptop, so half to two thirds of the price to fix it. Most often such screen cracks are blamed on the customer, although if there is no warm on the back of the laptop screen, and just the screen itself, sometimes (but very rarely) will companies fix it themselves. Did you take out any extra warranties with them?

Not to my knowledge, I paid 400 for laptop and 150 for a separate package including Cloud, Office and Norton, I don't think I got any special warranty with it..

If the screen is cracked/damaged then you're pretty much out of luck. If you know someone who is relatively good with computers than they should be able to fit a screen pretty easily. They aren't cheap though.

If the screen is physically damaged they won't even entertain it. If it's just literally stopped working display wise, or video card problem, that'll be fine under warranty.

I think the major question here is did they vaious parts just stop working/ develop faults or is it physical damage from drops/usage? If it's the latter then the warranty won't cover it.

What happened was, coming home from college on Friday on train, left my two bags in the area where you put luggage as train was pretty packed and didn't want it to get in peoples way. Laptop was inside backpack inside foam sleeve.
Went to open it up at home and screen cracked, corner to corner.
Guessing someone must have been pretty rough with it, while trying to get their bags.
Keyboard and jack, keyboard happened all of a sudden over weekend, one minute they were fine, next 7/8 keys didn't work, and jack is just I have to twist it a bit to get both speakers to work.

Latter two no idea how it happened but the screen one, it's definitely physical damage, no getting around it.
