    Hi all,
im looking at taking the wife and our two kids away for two days and a night, kids are aged 3 and 2. Can anyone recommend a location/hotel not to far from Dublin with amenities close by that I could bring the kids... ideally somewhere with a pool.
looking to book a week day during the mid term next week.
    Thanks in advance

Kellys near Rosslare is where a lot of my friends/colleagues who have kids go to, and they rave about it.

We had a lovely weekend with our kids in the Millrace hotel in Bunclody. Nice appartments, restaurant, pool and right in the village.
(not that much to do in Bunclody but a nice walk).

You'd probably do it in 1.5 hours from Dublin or so.

The Glen View Hotel in Wicklow. It's just outside Bray, so the drive is next to nothing if you are coming from Dublin. My nieces adore the place. They are 12 and 14 now, but they've been going since they were 3 and 5 and they still love it. It has the best pool I've ever seen for kids. They have two separate kiddie areas, so the kids can splash around and not bother the grown ups. One of them has very shallow water that is perfect for toddlers. They also have two parts of the pool where if you press a button, the water starts bubbling up like a jacuzzi. It's great craic. Kids love it. The hotel also has a kids play area where you can check the kids into if mom and dad want to have a nice quiet dinner upstairs. The gardens are great for kids to play in too.

Castle Leslie just outside Monaghan town. Amazingly, only 75 minutes from Dublin. The hotel is in the lodge house. Great restaurant, excellent bar food, a spa (can't remember if there's a pool), very comfortable rooms, beautiful walks, horseriding. It's attached to the quaint little town with a nice pub a short walk down the road when Dad wants to go for a sneaky pint.

Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny - not at all grand like Castle Leslie, but it has a pool, acceptable restaurants, serviceable walks, comfortable rooms. Nice, but too far outside Kilkenny and a bit boring.
