    a review here

Have been thinking of getting this but leaning toward Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (released in the US but a few weeks away yet this side of the pond). Current Yoga still available (http://shop.lenovo.com/ie/en/laptops/ideapad/yoga/) but last Gen 3 chip and lower res screen - still a good price point.

for taking notes make sure your device comes with a digitizer pen. Surface Pro 2 is among the few devices I know that has one. There is a Vaio model that does as well.

Basically, im a mature student doing comp sci. I have a lot of maths were i need to take handwritten notes, which i would like to do directly into one note beside the pdf the lecturer has uploaded. I will also have to programme on this machine. I have a six year old as well so it will have to be sturdy. the yoga looks like a solid machine but doesnt support digitiser, the surface pro on the other hand does but has a small screen size. I need this machine to last me at least 3 yrs+ so i dont want to make a mistake here

Surface Pro's screen real estate is paper-sized, and OneNote works fantastic on it:

you're correct about the Yoga 2 Pro - an alternate is the 12.5" ThinkPad Yoga which will support Wacom Digitizer Pen

    Hi OP,

I was going to buy one... but the price is 220 euro up on it's launch week (for the maxed out spec).

I'm waiting on a special on the i7 or 16GB memory to bring the price down...

The narrative review the 14" is a bit lukewarm (our friend in the video review is a little creepy it has to be said ;))

Personally I may still go with one of the multi-slips but for me I'd like some hands-on first.

Yoga doesn't have the digitizer pen.

No word that I could briefly confirm that the XPS 11 supports a pen. Interesting design though, it's basically the best parts of the Yoga, with a Surface-style Touch Cover keyboard, which is an intelligent choice when you're worried about keyboard exposure.

Jamesccp said Thinkpad Yoga (not Ideapad) - the former will come with digitizer pen
