    Hi,
Enquiring about the best route people take to work from Clonsilla to IFSC and how long it takes them ?

Also average fuel costs per week/ month?

I would say Train to Connolly or Docklands station is the fasted way to get there. Driving in rush hour would be a nightmare.

You've got a train right into the IFSC. Sorted!

Driving would be crazy given that the rail service does that trip.

I need car during work to do call outs. I'm aware of the train service and its merits but I'm asking people that do same routes in the car.

It can take anything from 20 to 50 minutes. Its a straight enough route with phibsborough being a bottle neck at times. At peak times it could be stop start all the way in.

I'd say it varies enormously depending on the time you do it.

Go in early like 7am and you'd miss most of it.

the fastest way is to take the M50 and port tunnel if you are in a rush. But I guess you don't want to pay the toll. I'd recommend the following route:

Get on the M50 at the Blanchardstown junction heading north bound. Get off at the Ballymun exit and head south bound towards the city when you get to Mobhi Road take a left onto Griffith avenue and proceed east until the road ends. Turn right onto the malahide road and right again onto north strand road, continue heading south until you cross over the bridge. As soon as you cross over the bridge take a left onto East wall road. Keep going and take a right onto East Road, continue south until you get to New Wapping street, arrive at IFSC.

This way you'll miss most of the inbound traffic, hope it helps.

Thanks a lot - very well explained too!

Just to be aware thats 30k extra a day, than going direct through town.

No idea how it compares time-wise.

That's madness especially when you have as much chance of being stuck in traffic as heading straight in. Why add the mileage and time?

I have no experience of that route. But its not unusual to drive around traffic.

during peak hours, Phibsboro is just not an option. The way I suggested saves time.

Where there is madness there could be a method alright!

What about the traffic coming into the city on that route?

You are going out of your way with a strong chance of getting stuck in traffic somewhere else. You wouldn't be the only one who would be trying a different route.
It's always worth trying different routes if you are stuck in traffic i suppose.
If i see the traffic backed up ahead then i'll try and snake my way through Grangegorman and maybe onto the quays . If im moving in roughly the right direction then im alright :).

The only arterial routes I propose using are the Ballymun Road, which doesn't really get bad until you hit Glasnevin. Then the Malahide Road you'll only be on for a few metres and Fairview/north strand road generally moves well it's like 6 lanes wide. The other roads have very light flow even in peak hours.
