    Health care course, fetac level 5, are they worth doing?

    It really depends on what you are hoping to achieve. If you want to work as a healthcare assistant, then yes, it is worth it as it's a HIQA requirement to have the FETAC Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or be undertaking it or be willing to undertake it within two years in order to work as a HCA.

    I did this course last year and loved it. It was worth it for me as I now have a job as a healthcare assistant and I'm studying nursing in university.

    Yes, it's worth doing if you want to work in this sector. As has been mentioned it is a legal requirement and has excellent employment prospects. The jobs at the end are low paid, but can be very rewarding and there are good opportunities for progression as the sector is growing so fast.
