With the recent disocvery of skelotal remains a man being charged with the murder. word on the the grapevine has it that the Gardai believe that they may be dealing with a serial killer. A span of murders in the late 90's may be attributable to the then 19/20 year old.

theres actually one or two unsolved murders in the cork are too like Sophie Toscan de Plantier.

    any opinions, please no names.

EDIT.. LM is quite possible A serial Killer, but maybe we can not atttribute all the killings to him

Or there could be more than one serial killer?

Cause it couldn't possibly have occured to more than one person that the Wicklow mountains would be a good place to make a body disappear?

Larry Murphy had killed before he was thoroughly prepared and confident , there would be another missing woman added to the list if the hunters hadn't disturbed him. Shame on our judicial system that evil like him was let free to roam the world gives me shivers even thinking about him. He worked in deirdre Jacobs grandmothers shop before she dissapeared and a few of the other missing girls are a stones throw from where he lived.

So you think this latest guy is a serial killer ?? Something about the amateur nature of the whole thing indicates that perhaps he is not.

i was under the impression that they were always working under the assumption that there was 3 or 4 guys operating around the country throughout the 80's and 90's but they liked him alot
also didnt they only get him on 1 murder? but they wanted him for 7 or 8 missing persons always thought that was a bit of a stretch can maybe see him for 3 but not the whole lot

That poor woman Sophie was not the victim of a serial killer. The gards really dropped the ball on that case. In fairness to them, they had no idea what they were doing. Had no training in this type of crime and were in way above their heads.

He sits pretty though doesn't he? never convicted of a murder. Who knows? I believe he was involved in some of the cases he's linked to but of course there is no sufficient evidence to suggest he was.

An intriguing character, I believe more may come from his lore one day.

Didn't he apparantly tell that woman that he would put her with the others and she would never be found? Kinda interesting how the disappearances stopped once he was caught? I think it's only a matter of time before he gets up to his old tricks again.

Didn't the Gardai get the FBI to profile the killings and they said there was 2 or 3 killers floating around that area.

Also if I am not mistaken I think Jacobs have said in the past they know who Deirdre's killer is they just can't pin it on him and it's not Larry Murphy, it's someone closer to home.

didn't the gards try to fit some guy up for that murder, I think they forced some woman to make a statement that she seen him near the house or something like that.

I remember seeing an FBI man on an Irish talk show way back and he was warning of two serial killers operating in Ireland at that time..he was either ex FBI or a profiler for the FBI, it may have been the late late show.

Everything about that case was a disaster. The gards let a suspect enter the crime scene to take pictures, thus contaminating the crime scene. Comical stuff.

Could be more specific in your description as to the identity of this photographer. It would help your post.
