Time to change cars. I'm lucky enough to have a company paying for it, currently in a skoda superb combi 170bhp DSG, have had it two years and have 130k clocked up. Moving to a new role so will do less (40-50k pa) mileage, still want an estate, would like auto but not a deal breaker. Budget is 45k, I have a wide short list and would appreciate any comments so far I'm looking at/liking

    3 series touring sport manual
Subaru legacy s touring manual (new one due I think)
    A4 avant se auto
    Octavia Vrs combi DSG w/extras
    Mazda 6 sport SE auto

    Thanks

    B

subaru are doing deals on the sports tourer at the moment on a few pre reg models. about 38k
got offered one the other day when mine was in for service

i drove the mazda a few months back and would prefer it over the legacy but they are still expensive

i think i'd have the bmw

How much do you carry? If it's not too much, then a V60 R-Design with the new 181ps D4 diesel.

If you need more space, then the Mazda 6 is quite nice.

Have someone coming out of a 4x4 Superb Combi and going in to an XC60 as he no longer needs quite as much room.

    Subaru for me.

At least it looks a bit different, the country is full of Octavia's, BMW's and A4's.

interior of the legacy is disappointing...not that interesting
mazda interior is a nice place to be
you could probably find a merc c class 200 cdi avantgarde for budget

As much as I am a BMW fanboi, the skoda VRS would give a very nice all rounder. Ok interior quality won't be as high as a BMW etc but you will have something that goes like stink and looks good. I'd imagine you would be able to tick pretty much every option in a vrs whereas a 3 series etc would come in with a fairly basic spec at the same price.

Why not get another Superb? You'll hate getting into a relatively small car like a 3 series after have the space of the Skoda and it will feel like a downgrade. Getting the same car again might be a bit boring, but that doesnt mean its not the right choice

That's quite a depressing list given the budget.
