If I wanted to sell tyres (f.e. donedeal, adverts, etc) how much can I ask for a set of 4 like below?
    All in size 205/55R16
    2x Hankook VentusPrime2 - tread 4mm - manufactured 3712 (37th week of 2012)
    2x Bridgestone Turanza - tread 3mm - produkcja 3211 (32nd week of 2011).

Anyone can tell me rough figure which would be reasonable to advertise them for?

A place that sells and fits part worn tyres in that size would be looking for about €30-€35 per tyre with 5mm or more.

Considering your tyres are less than that, and you wouldn't be fitting them for whoever is buying so they would have to take them into a tyre place and pay to get fitted, I don't think I would pay more than €15-€20 per tyre myself.

That's 60 - 80 quid. Still better than I thought. I'd be actually happy to get as much for them.

I'd be very surprised if anyone was bothered buying tyres with that little thread without fitting

Too little thread really. The cost of fitting will amount to too great a cost versus mileage that can be got out of them.

I bought 2x Hankook Ventus Prime 205/50R16 (privately, not from a s/h place) almost new (500 miles on them) about 3 years ago for €40 and thought I got a good deal.

I'd say if you got €40 for the 4 tyres you should be happy. €50 even better.

Tbh, 3mm tread would put me off; 4mm just about OK.

See, at the moment tyres have 5mm (front hankooks) and 3.5mm (rear bridgestones)
I'll be taking them off in about 2 months, that's why I estimate that they will have 4mm and 3mm by then.

Maybe so I'll be better to swap them now (front to back) and then by December I'll have hankooks with 4.5mm and bridgestones with 2.5.
I'll throw away bridgestones, and sell 4.5mm hankooks. Maybe that would be better.

If it was me, I would just leave the Hankooks on the front and buy 2 new tyres for the rear. Do it now and you might get €20 or €25 for the Bridgestones.

    Not an option.
I need to keep those tyres till December, and then I will need to buy winter tyres to put on those rims.
For next summer I have rims in bigger size, so those 205/55R16 summer tyres will be no use for me anymore.

OK. Then just swap to winter tyres now instead of December, and sell the old tyres with more tread to get a better price for them. A month extra on the winter tyres will not make any difference in the long run.

I think kopperberg has a set of civic alloys for sale? Stick your winters on those?

    Too late now.
I already got 16" alloys for my civic, and those tyres in question are on those alloys. It's just I had a set of 2 left over from my previous car, so I decided to buy another 2 and put them on, and use them before the winter.
For next summer I already have 17" alloys ready which came with my civic.

    Heh.
Again not great solution for me.
I live in the area where road's sureface is very harsh, so tyres wear down very quickly.
Since I put on those tyres (front Hankooks were brand new with 7.5mm tread) 3 months ago, I've done 6k kms and they are already worn down to 5mm.
If I put breand new winter tyres now, they will already loose over 1mm tread before December.
And that's not what I want, as I want to use them for my journey to the Continent, and keep them using for that every winter. Tyre wear on continental roads is 3 times slower than here, so I just don't really want to drive here on winter tyres to unnecesserily wear them down, unles obviously there is snow here, but I doubt this will happen soon.

I was also thinking about other option of driving to Poland in December on those summer tyres, and then selling them there and getting winter tyres there.
Quick calculations seem to show it could be worth.

    Here in Ireland:
    - buy 4x winter tyres online = 320 euro
    - fit them and balance = 60 euro
    - sell set of old summer tyres = -40 euro
    Total: 340 euro

    Poland:
    - buy 4x winter tyres online = 260 euro
    - fit them and balance = 12 euro
    - sell set of old summer tyres = -75 euro
    Total: 197 euro

So I can save 143 euro. Assuming in December weather will be adequate to drive from here to Poland on summer tyres, I'll probably go for it then.

Sounds like a plan. Great saving!

About 2 years ago I tried to sell tyres and complete tyre/wheel assemblies to clear space for other parts and see the wheels being put to use. They weren't for some ancient Fiat either; most were mk4 Golf wheels and Avensis wheels (Ford/Honda and other makes in there too). Enough wheels for about 7-8 cars :)

I was asking €5-10 for just a wheel, €10-€20 for tyres with about 4mm of thread onwards, depending on the condition and type of tyre (some were winters). I thought that was a fair price for winter wheels

None of the wheels sold

Eventually I binned the wheels (had a full set of alloys for a Corolla they went to the bin too) and used the tyres myself (hence I was swapping them left right and centre as well as balancing all last year)

Any unusable tyres/tyres I wore down went to the local silage pits

TLDR asking for the price of tyres is one thing, getting it is another ;)
