Car to Van Conversion and VRT?

I am looking at this 8 seater MPV, a Nissan Serena in the UK, it is a 2litre Petrol automatic and the price seems reasnoble.

The plan would be to bring it back to Ireland and strip out its rear seats and have it taxed commercially as a van, as it is petrol and automatic I'd also convert it to LPG for cheaper running costs. I only drive manual vehicles and it is very difficult to find petrol automatic vans in Ireland as I am only interested in petrol ofr LPG Conversion as LPG is my fuel of choice with both Petrol and Diesel being far too expensive now.

I know many people have bought 7 seater "jeeps" and removed the seats to make them commercials. I wonder what would the situation with this vehicle be?

It is Diesel and the roof looks too low compared to the UK Nissan. I'm looking for petrol specifically for an LPG conversion afterwards.

then you have a yearly test at 115 euro, plus if it passes the test first time it is reported to the cops as a suspicious vehicle, grief, grief, grief, all the way.

two problems: you have to do more than just strip out the seats and you only have seven days to book your appointment at the NCTS for re-registration and 30 days to complete the process.

What would be suspicious? I have heard of private to commercial being done often and my whole point in making the thread is to find information about this topic on how to proceed. I want to do everything properly, above board and as allowed. I understand the rear windows had to be film coated and the seats permanently removed, (cut out the fittings) and then fit something like that anti skid plate to the floor.

Hi, as per RSA guidelines you will need to get a vehicle conversion cert to get it insured. Dunphy Engineers are RSA approved SQI for this
