    Well they were making a training video on e.v safety, so but it was the fire dep that actually ripped it to bits if you want to put it like that.

    I couldn't do it. :D

    I do not think the methods being demonstrated by the Freemont Fire Dept would be needed in that accident.

    That tesla went on fire because a piece of steel fell off a truck and hit the tesla with a force of 25 tonnes.

    It did a remarkable job of protecting the driver and no fire entered the car what so ever.

    If that had been a normal car with petrol it would have been much worse because there is far more energy in a tank of petrol and much less protection than a battery in a steal case.

    No, seemingly in an incedent like that the protocol is to drill holes in the battery compartment and fill it with water.

    Under no circumstances was the fire due to a malfunction.
