Well what's the craic. I'm driving a 125 close to a year now on a provisional license. I want to upgrade my license to a full one but it doesn't seem to be that simple. I had a look at the website and they said I had to do a 12 hour course before I can apply and obtain a full license. So does anyone know what this course consist of and how much it's going rob me of my savings?
And does a full Irish drivers license entitle you to a full international one or are there further requirements for this.

    Thanks

All info on RSA website. You will need to complete the mandatory IBT courses by an approved instructor before you can proceed with your test.

Not hard, unless your a complete beginner, that's the point, price varies on the instructors that do it, its usually cheaper if you do it with someone.

    Hiya,

Not 100% sure now, but the fact you already hold a lerner permit I think your covered as far as I.B.T. goes. What's going to be factors are your age, how long you've held your lerner permit etc. Just with the introduction of the A2 category and the progression module it can be a bit blurry... If you want to post up your exact details like date lerner permit obtained, age etc. I'm sure we'll thrash it out for ya! but the fact you already have the lerner permit, you could be on the pigs back! couple of lessons and off you go hopefully...

Either way whatever category you pass in and you get on the full licence, covers you in accordance with the EU definitely and internationally AFAIK. provided you have the relevant insurance cover...

    Regards,
    Pete.
