Tyre load index question

I'm shopping around for all-season tyres for my Qashqai, and have run up against a couple of small problems namely that a) the number of such tyres available in the wheel size I have (215/65 R16) is limited, and b) some of the tyres are only available in a higher load index, i.e. 102 vs. 98 which is what's on there at the moment. If I get tyres with the higher load index, what effect will that have, if any?

It just means the tyre is able to carry more weight on that particular corner (axle) of the car,the will have stronger sidewalls and probably be safer as a result.

Thats not much of a difference. Wouldn't be worried.

Higher loading have stronger stiffer side walls
It can impact the ride comford but won't be noticeable if you stay close to original rating
Go too heavy a load rating and you will get much stiffer ride.

Thanks for that lads. I didn't think it'd make too much difference. One table I saw had 98 as being equivalent to 750kg and 102 being 850kg. The tyre size is one with quite a high sidewall anyway, so a little bit of extra stiffness wouldn't go astray.
