    Hi,

I own an Acer Revo 3600 as a HTPC. It has an miniPCI-e connector for the wifi card that I don't use.

I recently bought this mSata SSD card:

    Intel mSata SSD

Will this card work with the mini PCI-E connector? I am a bit confused by the description of the Intel SSD card, it mentions both interfaces but Wikipedia says that they are only format compatible
    mSATA

I don't want to put in my SSD card and blow the memory chips. Anyone who has done this before?

    Acer Revo

miniPCI-E connector is at the bottom left in the picture

No, mSATA requires a mSATA slot. It might look like a mPCIE slot but they're different technically.

There are such a thing as mPCIE SSDs but they're not the same as an mSATA SSD.

    Thanks for the fast reply.

OK I stick with the original plan and buy a PCI-E to mSATA card for my home server :)

Some motherboards have combo slots, that might be what you have. Don't know for sure though.
