    Hi,

So my boss is from Boston and is a BIG Sox fan, he is travelling to Dublin next week and if the Sox get into the World Series he would like to watch the games while there.

Does anyone know of any pubs in Dublin city that will be showing these games?

    Thanks
    LL

At a guess, the Wool Shed would probably show some of the games. But only the 6PM GMT or 9PM GMT games.

Wouldn't say you will be able to the see the late games (midnight or after) anywhere, or you might get an hour at most.

Sinnotts, by Stephen's Green may also show it if you ask, they have a lot of screens for sport as well. They show NFL.

The weekday WS games will be starting around 8pm ET which is 1am here so you'll do doing well finding a pub open that will be showing it. If the Saturday/Sundays games are at earlier time, his best bet would be the Woolshed I'd say but it might be worth a phone call to confirm first.

If he's only here during the week, ge should check with his hotel to see if they have the BT/ESPN package as they'll be showing it or if his hotel has a decent wifi service, he could subscribe to MLB.TV. I'd imagine it'd be quite cheap to get it for a week or so.

    Mixing up ur sports?

The ws schedule is out and all games are on at 7.30et with one at 8et so you won't see it at most pubs. Maybe he should book his hotel based on their tv channel offerings.

Alternatively, he could wait til the following night to watch, which is what I'll be doing as the sports news here doesn't cover the results bar the overall winner, usually.

Be careful, I've been stung a few times recently with that. RTE.ie had a breakdown of one of the games during the week, including having it as one of the main headlines on the Sports home page.

I've had this issue trying to watch the post season games. Only way to do it is see if a hotel carries ESPN and make sure they operate a late bar.

The best idea is a subscription to mlb.tv. Only $24.99 for the postseason.

I didn't actually check the schedule times. Just assumed they would mix of the up the game start times.
But obviously in the Play Offs they keep them all to evening ET?
If they all start evening time ET, then no regular walk-in bar will be showing them I'd say.

First 3 games will start at 12.30am Irish time.

Then, important to note, clocks go back and we'll be 4hrs from ET.

So Sunday's game will be midnight, and any games required next week will be 11.30pm

So what's your plan 8-10? Gonna be putting in some late nights or watch on delay the next day?

I can't imagine not watching Game 1 live so that's my plan for Wednesday night. Thursday night will either be nap after work until the start of the game or else sleep through and watch at 5am or something, will likely work from home the day after so I won't have to worry about driving in the morning. There's enough baseball fans in work for me to know I'd hear the result straight away if I went in without seeing it, even if I work from home there'd be emails.

Then the weekend should be fine as it's a bank holiday, probably watch both games live. then next week it's back to either watching delayed or staying up, no plan yet. It's only a couple of weeks so I don't mind feeling wrecked for the sake of seeing Boston in the World Series. Have a feeling it's going to be a very very tough series but anything can happen!

    Hi OP
Get him, or someone on his behalf to sign up to MLB.tv and thenh he can watch the games live online.

    I just signed up for a unbeatable e2.88, ($3.99)

Just be careful there's no automatic renewal for next season at the end of February or something, they normally email you in advance but worth noting if you don't want to pay for the whole of 2014.

$3.99 is for nothing though, no brainer even if it's just for 1 game or something.

Unfortunately the condensed game on MLB.tv wasn't available yet when I got up this morning so my plan of watching the game in 15 minutes without knowing the score went out the window.
