Hi folks , so just looking for some advice...

At the end of this year I will have a Bachelors Ordinary Degree in Maths.

Im just wondering would I have any options open to me that i could go into for example a Teaching diploma .

If I don't have any luck , I still have the option to go on and do another year for an honours , but hopefully applying to a masters in Meteorology that i have some luck getting into with a good level 7 and pre credits also.

Or even jobs wise , what would spring to mind for anyone with a maths degree?

    Cheers in advance.

Going by the teaching council website the minimum required for teaching maths is ord. Bachelor. So you should be all good. Although hdip has increased to two years now and you would need a second subject. Usually science/business is the combo, these might be easiest for you to ' branch off' into from where you are now..
As regards jobs in teaching...be prepaired to emigrate to uk...(for the next 8 years or so anyhow!)

Ian I was in a few of your classes. I graduated this year with the BSc. One of the lads has gone on to do the diploma in teaching but afaik they're the last group that'll be allowed to do it one year.

With regards to doing the masters, every application is considered on its own merits. I got onto an engineering masters course this year with the ordinary degree. They looked at my work experience along with the qualifications.

Surely with your keen interest in meteorology you stand a good chance of getting accepted. Maybe include a link to your contributions in the weather forum as well as evidence of your storm chasing escapades ;)

Best of luck whatever you decide!
