    IP44 is far from waterproof and is not suitable for outdoor use.

    It states "4 Splashing of water Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect."

    So does this include rainwater no?

    No.

    I would not consider installing anything outside that is less than IP65 (although I think the regulations state IP55).
