HMV gift vouchers

Just wondering if anyone has gotten replacement gift vouchers from HMV. We were told that we would be contacted before the 18th of October but no word from them and their web site is still "coming soon"

Just got an email from them.

We were unable to find the number of the voucher in the old hmv system.
We hope you enjoyed being screwed out of more money for the registered post. Your best buddies hmv.

Well that's the gist of it at least.
The moral of the story is never darken the door of a HMV or Xtravision again.

I also got email to say the voucher my wife bought in Tesco was invalid and they won't honour it.

Got an email on Friday from them with a valid code to use in store. Sorry to hear about the non-honoured ones. I wonder are they being 'selective' based on the amount? Mine was for €30.

I got the same rejection email as all of you a couple of days ago. I decided to recheck the numbers I submitted and I discovered a typo in one of them. Yesterday, I emailed the info@hmv.ie address given, to give them the correct numbers in the hopes that they'd check again. Today, I got a voucher for the full €92 on my cards.
However, I don't understand why they rejected both of the cards I sent to them, when there was only a typo in one number. Something seems wrong there.

Anyway, I'd suggest to all of you who got rejected to recheck your numbers. It might work for you like it worked for me

Sadly my numbers were correct but I have sent off a mail to them with a photo of the actual card anyway and requesting more information.

Doubt I will hear anything back but ah well.

I mailed HMV back info@hmv.ie after reading some of the comments here. My voucher code was correct and to be fair to HMV, they came back and emailed me back today with a voucher which I spent on my way home.

So a big thumbs up for HMV.

Mad I didn't give up all hope and was surprised to find them mailing me back. After a number of mails back and forth I now have my voucher code.

I am now unsure how to feel about HMV as a brand :P

I'm having a battle with them at the moment, gift card with €50 on it and they're saying I didn't apply before the deadline, despite not hearing any ad campaign that they state was on radio, not seeing any flyers instore that they state they had, and being in their store twice before we were told gift card couldn't be used!
I emailed them to ask re gift card and was told it was too late but I replied stating all the above 5 days ago and am waiting to hear back . . .

I to didnt hear anything about it until only a few days ago, nothing on radio/tv papers etc. I PM'd them on their facebook page and got the following reply...

Hi Kevin, earlier this year HMV under its previous owners entered Receivership. The new HMV announced it would put in place a process whereby the value of old valid gift cards from the insolvent company could be exchanged for use as a good will gesture.
Gift card holders were asked to register their old cards online 5 weeks from that date which ended on the 10th of October 2013. This was widely reported across all national media and welcomed by the National Consumer agency who was informed of every step of the conversion program.
On registration, customers were informed that they would be sent, by email, a new code for any valid gift card codes they submitted by 14th of October 2013. These could be redeemed in any HMV or HMV concession within Xtra-vision stores across the country. These codes were valid until the 14th of November 2013, 4 weeks from their issue date.
Unfortunately if you have not taken the steps outlined above we will not be able to convert any additional cards from the insolvent company as the dates outlined above have now lapsed.

What a crock of BS, so ye advertised it on a few websites, well done HMV, thats yer arse covered so is it! Joke of a company! Looks like im gonna have to go in to my nearest store and took some stock to the value of the GV i have and let them do what ever they want with the it after.
