The fun racing back in action tomorrow.

One horse that really stands out for me is According to Trev.

Will look more tomorrow but he caught my eye as I think he could possibly be Graded class in future.

Edit - well better than these anyway. Graded is possibly an overstatement!

Looking forward to seeing how Cloud Brook gets on in the novice hurdle at Cheltenham, probably didn't beat an awful lot in his bumper win but it was the style of it that really impressed me, was still very green but hacked up. He'll make a nice chaser in time but interesting to see how he gets on over hurdles, looks a very decent contest to be starting off in though with some nice types in it.

I think Rebel Fitz will win the novice chase, Third Intention has ran some great races in defeat but he never finds a thing off the bridle and is not one to trust, Taquin Du Seuil is very interesting switched to fences but it is a big ask to beat the more experienced Rebel Fitz who has had 6 runs over fences on his first start despite getting 8 pounds.

Old Kilcash @ 5/2 (Powers) is the bet of the day for me.

Old Kilcash can lick the back of my sack. Backed him his last 3 starts. :o Might give him one more chance today, looks a weak maiden.

Connections (Horse Racing Soc) fancy Pickapocketortwos chances today at Downpatrick 4.10. Looks a chaser.

Cloud Brook is very interesting in the first at Chelt too. Backed him lto in his bumper and won a decent point too. green as grass lto too, have to have a small poke at 9s. racing is back!

I might have a punt on Rare Bob in the 3.15, hasn't won in two years but is running off a very low mark, needed the run in gowran two weeks ago and I seems to prefer the 3m trip; hopefully he'll go close! On the nose @12/1

Joe Tizzard gave Third Intention an awful ride and even then it wasn't beat.

What was awful about that ride?

I don't think that showed us anything anyway, Rebel Fitz probably ran to his level. If the Arkle is an abysmal affair he might run a place, nothing has changed in that regard.

Kept looking behind him when it was clear he had the better horse under him. Rode into a few fences too.

I've never heard a complaint of a jockey being too observant but anyway.

Not sure what you mean by rode into a few fences. The horse came under pressure for one jump when Rebel Fitz went to join him, no fault of the jockeys.

In any case that wasn't an awful ride, or even a bad one. It was a pretty impeccably judged pace from Tizzard to my eyes.

Havent seen the race but I like a jockey in front looking around, to me he is happy he has more horse under him but doesnt want to overexert him unnecessarily.

I hate a jockey not looking and getting himself and the horse in a panic when another horse comes upsides.

I don't think a jockey should be looking behind him every few seconds when he has a hurdle to jump.

I really dont understand what was bad about the ride. He never once looked uncomfortable and in a 2 horse race things can get quite tactical if he wasnt looking around it would have been silly amateurish considering the horse and jockey he was up against. He gave the horse an extremely compitent efficient ride. At no stage did he look beat and he jumped every fence well.

I think there would have been serious problems if he started jumping hurdles!!

Thought that was a good ride by Tizzard myself, obviously he's going to be looking to see where Rebel Fitz is it was a 2 runner race! Very tactical, thought Third Intention jumped very well.

Really like Pantxoa, thought that was a gutsy effort even after he clattered the 2nd last he still ran on well.

Ya really likeable horse alright. Twirling Magnet had the form as well but he is a pig of a horse and brings it when he wants. Think he most likely would have won anyway even without the mistake.

Joe Tizzard gave Third Intention an awful ride and even then it wasn't beat.

How did Tizzard give Third Intention an awful ride?! He was on the best horse on the day in the race, which he knew, and was merely looking behind to see if Rebel Fitz was showing any signs of coming under a ride (which he was). He then looked behind again as Rebel Fitz was rallying for pressure and he wanted to know exactly where his rival was in a trappy affair. All he wanted to do was give Third Intention as easy a time of things as possible whilst securing the win - which he did.

I thought it was an excellent ride myself, as will nearly everyone. You can't even categorise that as a bad ride, let alone an awful one!
