Probay a small thing but I always think rather than putting 320 tdi etc in the ad title on donedeal. I would instead but a line in the ad "similar size to a 320d passat.....etc) that way your still getting the key words in when searching but it looks a lot better I've done this when advertising my car in the past.

I personally hate adds that list things it is clearly not in the title to attract search results, if you are trying to trick me on the first line?

well your heading the right way with the price, anyway. Would yourmate tune it through the Nct and not have that looming for the new buyer? Personally I would drop mention of the turbo, as that might make a fellow nervous, I mean, only 80 thousand and engine work needed already. Photos of the inwaside and boot always a bonus. Other than that, let it sit and wait and see.

    Well said.
Most annoying thing EVER in an ad is that method of trying to get interest in your car by advertising a completely different car!!
Its gonna get you extra views sure, but its only gonna piss people off when they end up lookin at a Passat when they searched for a 320d for example.

Nice car if you can afford the tax, no mention of any service history ?

For me, I prefer to see closerange pictures of the car at all angles. The pictures of the actual car are taken at a distance apart from the rear picture. If I'm going to go look at a car I prefer to be sure there is not a massive dent/scratch on the side of the car that is not photographed.

The ad is not too bad, as above get rid of stuff in title

Its over priced compared to a few others on donedeal

Also very small market for this car
Road tax is pricey for most people

This going to take a while to sell, unless he drops that price to entice punters

Put it down as Jaguar X-Type 2.0D Sport

X type R just looks like you think its a honda (even if that's the actual name)

Pics are pretty bad tbh, need to be close enough to see what the body is like and cover all exterior angles.

I'd agree it looks stupid in the title or this giant block paragraph at the of the end with the name of anything the seller could think of. But by putting down cars similar to the jag in the ad will help. Think about how many say oh I am going out to buy a saloon car I'll look for an x type jag they'll probably look for a passat then suddenly this jag comes up which they never thought of before and they think its a nice unique diesel car that they can probably buy for less than a basic passat. Will not worker on ever buyer but then you only need it to work on one infairness. But as I said I wouldn't be putting in completly random cars just ones that are in the same segment as the jag.

yeah I get that, Ive seen it done frequently though and just think how many searches will there be for 318d, 320d, tdi etc, people that may never even have thought of or considered a similar diesel size jag. In relation to the photos, I have quite a few more from all angles and will throw them up... Keep the tips coming, thanks guys! :)

yeah I have far better up close pictures, I took some a few weeks ago when weather was good and used a few of them, as was blue skies etc, but some were taken from too far away...

Not sure I'd mention the new turbo tbh

If your mentioning the half leather then a pic is a must.

A picture of any documents, receipts etc is good.

Tag line thing has been addressed, god I hate it!

Use all ten pics available, 8 outside, 1 interior and 1 documents maybe?

Don't be afraid of writing at lenght, I get a good feel for a car by what's written. If it's too short then I haven't got to know car and it doesn't interest me.

The car's probably worth 3500 at a push, that's the reason you're not getting any bites.
