    Does anyone could write down step by step guide how to connect laptop to a small business win 2003 server ? Laptop runs win 7 home edition

    You need Windows professional to join a Windows Domain.

    Give laptop a friendly name;
    Setup same name for workgroup as for domain name;
    Setup same username and password account local on laptop as on the server;
    Map network drives and printers,as usual !

    You wont have some domain level policies and / or password management.
