Full Time ECDL Course with FAS

I'm hopefully starting the full time ECDL course in November. Has anybody done it before? Was just wondering why it's such a long course for relatively simple subject matter? And if the work placement of this still stands as I don't see in this economic climate how this would be a possibility?

I did this course at Fas college in Loughlinstown 3 years ago.

There was no work placement attached to this course.

There are 5 modules that take 2 weeks each and I thought the time was just right for what we had to learn and practice.
