Foundation for Wedding

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for a new foundation. I need something for an upcoming wedding that is longlasting and will photograph well . I have quite oily combination skin, my nose and chin will become very oily after only a few hours wear - which I hate!

I like a medium full coverage even on a daily basis. I always use powder, mac skinfinish but even this doesn't keep shine at bay. I'm not a huge fan of primer, I have tried the benefit porefessional and the smahbox photo finish but tbh I don't think they do much for me. I always have tan on and for my upcoming wedding - I'm just a guest thankfully, I need something that will photograph well and will last for a relatively long period before I have to re- powder.

Here's what foundations I have tried over the last year and a half.:
Chanel vita lumiere aqua - doesn't last at all on me
Nars sheer glow - like but gets v greasy looking
Bobbi brown can't remember which one but I'm not a huge fan of their products.
Mac -studio fix fluid - I like but it's v heavy for day wear and I'm not sure how it will photograph
Armani luminous silk - again it's nice but I feel that it's v dead looking on my skin and not v long lasting.

Any suggestions are appreciated, I love reading boards recommendations so hopefully someone can help!
Also if anyone knows if maybe it's the mac powder that is making me look ghostly in photos, and can maybe recommend something else that would be great!

    Thanks everyone.

I also have quite oily skin i find that using nivea oil free mosturising day cream and bourjois healthy mix foundation works fantastically for me. Hope this helps.

If you do like the nars foundation it also comes in a matte version!

I have the same skin as you, OP!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light! It has great coverage and is oil free so doesn't make your skin shiny.

I also think Boots Beautifully Matte foundation is brilliant. The coverage isn't as good as some foundations, but it has has great staying power! Cheap too if you have Boots vouchers. Only thing is it has SPF so may not look great in photos.

With regards powder I always end up going back to Mac Studio Fix pressed powder. Their blotting powder is also good but Studio Fix has foundation in it so adds a bit of coverage.

I got makeup done as part of a bridal party recently, and the lady used a dior foundation on me. Where I need a very heavy base, it actually felt weightless and looked very air brushed and flawless.
I did top up with a little max factor powder compact during the day, but it looked fab in photos.
I think a lot is down to technique as much a product though!

I wear Clinique foundation, have quite oily skin and have tried a few different ones. I had one that was good for keeping my skin matte, but looked really dull by the end of the day (Superbalanced, in a square glass bottle) - went in to Debenhams and said this to the girl there, that I wanted it to be mattifying but not dull, so she tried out two or three others and the stay-matte oil-free one is great - don't get shiny (I use soap and glory one heck of a blot powder over it in the mornings) and doesn't feel too heavy - you can see my freckles through it though so it's not terribly heavy coverage but it stays put all day.

Edit: Oh and No7 Beautifully Matte primer - it feels a bit clay-y going on but does help with shine I find.
